Attending college in Atlanta has its perks. One of those is the wide variety of brunch spots around the city. After a long week of classes and work, what better way to enjoy your weekend than with some coffee and brunch?

While Whistler has an in-house coffee shop in the lobby, Daydreamer Cafe, there are also several great brunch spots Atlanta has to offer. Whether you take your breakfast sweet or savory, Atlanta has a brunch spot for everyone.

For students new to Atlanta or simply looking to try somewhere new, I have compiled a list of my favorite spots to grab brunch near Georgia Tech.

Top 5 Places to Grab Brunch Near Georgia Tech

1. J. Christopher’s

Best for: Family style

Decked out with masterful art from floor to ceiling, J. Christopher’s revives the feeling of family-style eating. Sunday is the busiest day since it’s family-focus draws in customers coming back from church. Colorful kitchenware pairs well with the colorful menu. Whether you want a small plate or a whole feast, the options give you a bit of everything that comes to mind when you think of brunch. From the sweet side of pancakes and strawberry crepes to the savory omelets and skillets, you are sure to leave wishing you ordered a second plate.

2. Flying Biscuit Cafe

Best for: Southern Charm

For 25 years, Flying Biscuit Cafe has been serving customers with their home-style breakfast classics. No matter which dish you order, from the omelets to their pancake tacos, you are also given their famous biscuits. With specific dishes catered to vegetarians and vegans, as well as clear gluten-free and vegan labels, Flying Biscuit Cafe welcomes everyone into their family. With 14 locations across Georgia, stopping here is a necessity when coming to Atlanta.

3. Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe

Best for: Dates and de-stressing

Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe is a delightful spot featuring Asian pastries and the ever-popular bubble tea. With cases of fresh pastries and a full menu of sandwiches, this cafe is the center for cute coffee and brunch dates. If you’re looking for delicious sweet and savory buns or various flavors of milk tea, be sure to stop in and visit.

4. Pancake Social-Ponce City Market

Best for: Brunch with friends

Pancake Social is a trendy treat for Ponce shoppers. Located on the outside of Ponce City Market, this aesthetic restaurant is known for its buttermilk pancakes and various drinks. With an open concept, Pancake Social is meant for special brunches to catch up with friends. Just a few steps away from the rest of Ponce City Market, Pancake Social is the well-known brunch spot and Atlanta natives know the secret gems lie in the pastry shops inside. On the first floor, as your friends shop, stop by the doughnut shop or pastry corner for delicious surprises that are sure to add flavor to your morning.

5. Cafe Intermezzo

Best for: Formal events or celebrations

As one of the more expensive options, Cafe Intermezzo makes sure your meal is worth every cent. The fine-dining atmosphere and sophisticated decor create an aura perfect for celebrations and special events. Their delicious plates pair well with their bakery, which specializes in mouth-watering cake slices. Whether you want classic French toast, a breakfast sandwich, or a slice of my favorite Strawberry Crème Torte to satisfy your sweet tooth, Cafe Intermezzo raises the bar for any occasion.

 

Overall, Atlanta has plenty of wonderful brunch restaurants to choose from, and this list is just the start.
