Will Whistler be ready for move-in by Fall 2023?
Recent late deliveries in Midtown left a bad taste in some students’ mouths about signing a lease at a new student housing development.
Nobody wants to move into an unfinished building, and nobody wants to worry about the trouble it would cause for moving and storage, among other things, if this were to happen.
To provide peace of mind, we are going to answer your most urgent questions and share three reasons why you should feel confident in signing a lease at Whistler.
Is Whistler on schedule to deliver on time?

Not only is Whistler scheduled to deliver on time, but construction is ahead of schedule.
Construction began on Whistler in August 2021 and hasn’t faced any delays since starting. The project is scheduled to complete the vertical concrete structure by the beginning of October 2022, which is a full month ahead of the original schedule.
As of March 2023, units are complete up to Level 14, and we are on track to have the building ready in plenty of time for an August 2023 move-in.
Who is developing Whistler, and have they delivered any other buildings late in the past?
LV Collective is the real estate development firm behind Whistler. LV is a nationally recognized student housing developer focused on designing and curating high-quality real estate in superior locations throughout the United States. LV Collective currently has 4,000+ beds under construction across seven student housing developments in six markets.
LV Collective has never delivered a project late and is confident that Whistler will keep this streak alive.
Whistler’s general contractor, JE Dunn Construction, also has a strong track record with on-time deliveries in Midtown and is on schedule to deliver the project by the summer of 2023. Since 2003, JE Dunn has built four student housing projects in Midtown Atlanta. This includes Square on Fifth, and most recently, Reflection Student Apartments, which are both 25-story high rises. All projects were delivered on time or ahead of schedule.
Most recently, LV and JE Dunn worked together to deliver Waterloo Tower in Austin, Texas. The project received its certificate of occupancy ahead of schedule in June 2022. Students were able to move in two weeks earlier than anticipated for the Fall 2022 semester.
So the building will be ready, but will the furniture be there? And will everything be working properly?

It is one thing for a building to be finished, but without furniture, there isn’t much use to it being done on time.
We understand that some furniture suppliers have experienced delays due to COVID-related issues. Because of this, we have taken an extra step to assure that all furniture will be installed by the time of move-in.
To ensure that all furniture will be installed by the move-in date of August 11th, we have proactively shipped all unit and common area furniture to a warehouse in the U.S. to avoid complications with international shipping. This way, the furniture will be available ahead of schedule, giving our team plenty of time to install your furniture and properly clean your space.
What if the project doesn’t deliver on time?
We are so confident that Whistler will deliver on time that we are offering anyone who signs a lease a Move-in Guarantee.
While unlikely, the purpose of the Move-in Guarantee is to address the issue of a delay in occupancy stemming from construction.
Put simply, if for some reason we don’t hit our mark, we will not charge you rent for the time you cannot live at Whistler. We will also cover agreed upon daily hotel costs, extra moving costs, and storage costs.
We hope this article helped address any concerns you may have about the delivery of Whistler.
