What to Expect from a Tour of Whistler

Before Your Tour
Before your tour, think about what priorities you have for your apartment. Do you know how many roommates you want to live with? Is there a specific view you want to have from your apartment? Knowing the specifics of what you are looking for will help make your tour more personalized and timely!
Here’s a list of things to consider:
- Price range
- Floor plan style (studio, 4×4, 5×5, etc.)
- Amenities
- Windows
- Bathrooms
- Pets
- Parking
You should also come with a list of questions for the leasing staff. Signing a lease is a year-long commitment, so it’s important to get all the information you need before making any decisions. To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of 15 questions to ask on a tour.
Booking a Tour
Once you’ve made a list of preferences and questions, book a tour at our leasing office or stop by the office Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and Sunday 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM! Walk-ins are welcome!
If you already have some roommates in mind, find a time that works for everyone so you can ask questions together and get all the same information.
Tours last around thirty minutes to an hour depending on how familiar you are with the leasing process and whether or not you know what you are looking for.

Exploring the Leasing Office
When designing the Whistler leasing office, we made sure to include colors, patterns, furniture, and furnishings that are representative of the interiors of Whistler.
The leasing office also has a model kitchen including countertops, cabinets, and appliances that you will have in your future unit.

Once you have looked through the leasing office, an LMA or Lease Up Specialist will take you through a walkthrough of Whistler.
We also offer the option of a virtual tour if you are unable to find time or make it in person.
Here, you can ask any questions that come to mind. Our staff is happy to help!
Looking at Floor Plans
The next step is to look at floor plans. Share with the staff member what kind of floor plan(s) you are interested in and they will help you find the unit that is best for you.
Keep in mind the list of apartment priorities and references you made earlier to ensure the floor plan meets all your needs.
Start Your Application
As soon as you have decided on a floor plan that is perfect for you and your roommates, it’s time to start your application.
Have your driver’s license or government ID ready – the application should only take about 10 minutes to complete.
Note that if you are an international student, it’s best to complete your application while you are in the leasing office in case you run into any questions or concerns as you work through it.

Guarantor Information
The application will also ask you for information about your guarantor.
If you are unsure about what a guarantor is, it’s essentially someone who qualifies to sign a lease– like a parent or guardian. This is important because most students will not be able to qualify to sign a lease on their own, so the guarantor will sign to take on the liability of the rental rate for you.
Once you have completed your portion of the application, your guarantor will be emailed to complete another small section of the application.
Signing your Lease
After the application has been completed, you will be prompted to sign your lease.
Be sure to read through your lease and ask questions as you go– this is a big commitment so it’s important to know exactly what you’re signing.
Once you have signed and completed your lease and any additional documents, you are officially a future Whistler resident! Congrats!
We hope this gives you an idea of what to expect when you book a tour at Whistler. If you have any other questions or want to book a tour, contact our leasing team or stop by the office!
