Before Your Tour

Before your tour, think about what priorities you have for your apartment. Do you know how many roommates you want to live with? Is there a specific view you want to have from your apartment? Knowing the specifics of what you are looking for will help make your tour more personalized and timely!

Here’s a list of things to consider:

  • Price range
  • Floor plan style (studio, 4×4, 5×5, etc.)
  • Amenities
  • Windows
  • Bathrooms
  • Pets
  • Parking

You should also come with a list of questions for the leasing staff. Signing a lease is a year-long commitment, so it’s important to get all the information you need before making any decisions. To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of 15 questions to ask on a tour.

Booking a Tour

Once you’ve made a list of preferences and questions, book a tour at our leasing office in Whistler or stop by the office Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome!

If you already have some roommates in mind, find a time that works for everyone so you can ask questions together and get all the same information.

Tours last around 45 minutes depending on how familiar you are with the leasing process and whether or not you know what you are looking for.

Time for the Tour!

The tour will start at the leasing office, conveniently located on the first floor of Whistler. Your tour will begin by passing through the mailroom, which will lead you into our expansive study area. As you continue through this space, you’ll arrive at Daydreamer, our in-house coffee bar. Daydreamer caters to residents and the public, offering a selection of coffee, matcha, and pastries. Whether you prefer indoor or outdoor seating, it’s the perfect spot for studying, socializing, or simply unwinding.

Returning through the study area, your next stop will be our lounge, providing yet another space for residents to relax and mingle. After exploring the first floor, we’ll guide you to the second floor, where you’ll find additional seating areas, including both semi-private and private study areas. You’ll pass by our well-equipped kitchenette on your way to the second-floor elevator lobby.

The tour continues as you make your way up to the 25th floor, where you’ll discover more of Whistler’s luxurious amenities. Exiting the elevator lobby, you’ll step into the fitness center, which offers breathtaking views of our pool deck and showcases Whistler’s range of fitness activities. From dedicated spaces for weights, fitness on demand, and cardio fitness, our facilities have it all. Following your fitness center visit, we’ll take you to Whistler’s dedicated yoga and spin studios. Once you’ve explored our fitness floor, we’ll guide you downstairs to the 24th floor.

With panoramic views of the Midtown Atlanta skyline and the Georgia Tech campus, our rooftop pool deck features an elegant waterfall edge and ample seating options.

After you’ve visited the pool deck, we’ll head back inside and make our way to tour our model unit, The Cabell.

Looking at Floor Plans

After the walking portion of the tour, you’ll head back to the leasing office to look at floor plans. Since Whistler is almost fully occupied, you will view the floor plan renderings. This is the time to pull out that list of preferences you made earlier! The Leasing Manager or CA working with you will ask you what kind of floor plans you’re interested in, and will use your list to help find the unit that may be best for you. Whistler has over 13 floor plans, so having that list will make this process much smoother!

You’ll begin discussing each floorplan you’re interested in, weighing pros and cons, and ultimately decide on a unit that fits your preferences the best. It’s important to remember that there might not be a floor plan that checks every single box, but use your Leasing Manager or CA as a resource to talk through your concerns so they can help you find a unit that suits you best.

Start Your Application

As soon as you have decided on a floor plan that is perfect for you and your roommates, it’s time to start your application.

Have your driver’s license or government ID ready – the application should only take about 10 minutes to complete.

Note that if you are an international student, it’s best to complete your application while you are in the leasing office in case you run into any questions or concerns as you work through it.

Guarantor Information

The application will also ask you for information about your guarantor.

If you are unsure about what a guarantor is, it’s essentially someone who qualifies to sign a lease– like a parent or guardian. This is important because most students will not be able to qualify to sign a lease on their own, so the guarantor will sign to take on the liability of the rental rate for you.

Once you have completed your portion of the application, your guarantor will be emailed to complete another small section of the application.

Signing your Lease

After the application has been completed, you will be prompted to sign your lease.

Be sure to read through your lease and ask questions as you go– this is a big commitment so it’s important to know exactly what you’re signing.

Once you have signed and completed your lease and any additional documents, you are officially a future Whistler resident! Congrats!

We hope this gives you an idea of what to expect when you book a tour at Whistler. If you have any other questions or want to book a tour, contact our leasing team or stop by the office!
